The Story of Antilab

Antilab's story began during my hospital internship, where I observed a recurring challenge in patient care. When treating conditions like pneumonia, doctors often prescribed antibiotics as a precaution. This was not due to a lack of care or expertise, but because the lab tests needed to determine whether the infection was viral or bacterial took too long. This delay left doctors with little choice but to act quickly to protect their patients. However, this approach could unintentionally contribute to antibiotic resistance, expose patients to unnecessary side effects, and increase their financial burden.

Innovation through Collaboration

Together with my brother, I set out to create Antilab—a business focused on empowering healthcare professionals with faster and easy diagnostic tools. Drawing on my background in drug development and AI research, we began developing technology that could analyze chest X-rays using advanced methods like Vision Transformers. These tools help differentiate between viral and bacterial infections quickly, offering valuable insights to support clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
